The Republican National Cmte says it has filed a Freedom of Information Act request seeking thousands of e-mails from Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server.
- E-mails “are federal records which were, in defiance of State Department officials, improperly deleted,” cmte release says
- Clinton’s “failure to turn them over was in violation of her sworn declarations to a federal court, under penalty of perjury, that she turned over all e-mails relevant to the investigation,” RNC says
- NOTE: FOIA request follows Justice Dept. decision not to file criminal charges against Clinton
