Carly Fiorina Times Presidential Announcement With Start of Book Tour

A late April announcement would coincide with the start of Fiorina's publicity tour.

For Carly Fiorina it could two-fer.

The former Hewlett-Packard chief executive has apparently decided she will wait until the start of her upcoming book tour to announce whether she plans to jump into the presidential race.

Via National Journal:

Fiorina says she will decide if she'll run in late April or May. This conveniently coincides with the release of her second book, Rising to the Challenge: My Leadership Journey

That late April timetable aligns nicely with an Iowa speech that Fiorina will deliver on Sat., April 25, at the Faith & Freedom Coalition spring meeting in Waukee. Also on that bill will be Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, and Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

April appears to be shaping up as the month that will see more than a few presidential campaigns begin to bloom.  Democrat Hillary Clinton reportedly is waiting until then, and Republican Senator Rand Paul is said to be eyeing April 7 as the date to kick off his campaign.

Of course, if Fiorina ultimately decides to sit out the 2016 race, teasing a possible run won't hurt book sales.

Before it's here, it's on the Bloomberg Terminal.
