On the anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021 storming of the U.S. Capitol by supporters of former President Donald Trump, I find myself still scarcely able to believe that such an event occurred. But the lawyer in me is pleased to see the criminal justice process moving forward. According to Politico’s tracker, the 700-odd arrests of accused rioters have resulted so far in 150 guilty pleas.
What’s striking is that one year after the violent effort to prevent the certification of the presidential election, some on the right continue to complain about how the process is playing out.
