IOSCO recommendations for ESG ratings and data product providers

Bloomberg welcomes the publication of IOSCO’s Final Recommendations for ESG Ratings and Data Products Providers. This marks an important step forward in improving transparency and credibility among ESG ratings and data products.

Bloomberg has previously engaged in the IOSCO’s Sustainable Finance Taskforce work and continues to share our insights across jurisdictions on this topic.

Bloomberg has endorsed the following Codes of Conduct

Bloomberg proactively monitors the development of relevant Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Codes of Conduct (CoC) in various jurisdictions.

Bloomberg has endorsed the following Codes of Conduct in relation to our proprietary ESG Scores (including any applicable sub-components, such as sub-scores) and ESG Data Products (including any applicable sub-components):

  • The Code of Conduct for ESG Evaluation and Data Providers, introduced by Japan’s Financial Services Authority
  • Code of Conduct for ESG Ratings and Data Products Providers, introduced by the International Regulatory Strategy Group and the International Capital Markets Association
  • Singapore Code of Conduct for ESG Rating and Data Product Providers, introduced by Monetary Authority of Singapore
  • Hong Kong Code of Conduct for ESG Ratings and Data Products, sponsored by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission
