Sept. 11 (Bloomberg) -- New York Public Advocate and Democratic mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio talks to supporters about the results of yesterday's primary election. With 96 percent of precincts reporting, de Blasio had 40.2 percent to former city Comptroller William Thompson’s 26.2 percent. De Blasio needed 40 percent to avoid an Oct. 1 runoff.
