July 30 (Bloomberg) -- It was just over a year ago that former NSA Contractor Edward Snowden first exposed the spying tactics used by the U.S. government. Snowden has filed to extend his asylum in Russia, which is set to expire today. Over the past year, Snowden's revelations have prompted some of Silicon Valley's top chief executive officers to speak out against government surveillance.
