May 9 (Bloomberg) -- A longtime leader in the auto industry, Volkswagen has redefined the auto plant with the only LEED Platinum-certified plant in the world. The Chattanooga-based facility boasts a comprehensive system of cutting edge technologies, including a $30 million solar farm and wetlands to minimize environmental impact.
