Oneida Nation Says Redskins Name Civil Rights Issue

Oct. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Ray Halbritter, chief executive officer of the Oneida Indian Nation, and Joel Barkin, spokesman, speak at a news conference in New York following a meeting with National Football League officials about the tribe's request that the nickname of the Washington Redskins be changed due to its offensive nature to Native Americans. Michael Freidman, a clinical psychologist and author of a report about the effects of the Redskins name on the Native American community, also speaks.
