  • 00:00You talk about the restructuring and the, I guess, future proofing in terms of what your expectations are for demand and the broader global cycle when it comes to the industry. Can you share some of those insights at the start of this year? Yeah. Thank you very much for this interview opportunity. The actual idea, the semiconductor market globally, the country is asleep a little bit to slowing down. However, over time we believe that it will grow very robustly and substantially so that we keep investing in the capacity expansion and the product development activity and so forth. A lot of the uncertainty when it comes to global semi's has also been down to geopolitical tensions and the geopolitical construct, particularly between the US and its allies and China. I'm wondering if that has had any meaningful impact on your business at all or do you see that as being a risk going forward? Yeah, actually, it is associated with risk and opportunity as well. You gotta see this decoupling between the U.S. and China will require us to restructure the information on the R, on D and also the production capacity because of some limitation coming off from the export control as severe as those of things. And also the newly installed chip sucked is going to be regarded as sort of the opportunity. At the same time, we have to be very cautious on how to look at the lookout. Therefore, we are keeping and keep investigating in this kind of situation. And in the next few years we have to come up with the new structure of how to deal with that. How does it affect your investment decisions right now? Basically, the we are already have some exposure in China. And what we are discussing that how we can self fulfilling, how we can have the self fulfilling, the structure for the old China production sourcing as well as the revenue sales activity as well. In order to have the same sort of, you know, relatively independent, the type of business structure the from Japan, from U.S. and so forth. How much business are you seeing in the broader semiconductor space globally? Aside from these geopolitical tensions, do you expect demand to pick up? Yes. Well, anyway, with the the developing a product roadmap, we believe that our demand and also the the contribution to our customers will develop farther. However, the how we can set up our selves in terms of the production is a little bit tricky because of the dis tension, because there will be a summer restriction coming along. What are you seeing? The fiscal it is going forward, especially for the highly advanced the technology. The US is already explaining that it is somehow, if it says some restriction to be exported or provided to the Chinese or the restricted entity in China. Therefore, the we are not so sure yet how this trend will go warm in the next few years. However, there we have to be very careful in looking out and also evaluating this this trend. And we have to control ourselves, you know, how to expose ourselves in this kind of illustration. To admit her again was hugely volatile last year, and we're expecting more resilience when it comes to the currency and wondering how the currency effects had played out for your business and how you potentially hedge for more volatility. The. Your questions about the mobility sector, currency or the yen? Currency, OK. Sorry, the currency situation. Yeah. Yes, he did. It is very, very broad right now. And basically the we have the memorial export oriented from Japan. So therefore the depreciating game has very has a positive impact on our bottom line. However, the going before it it is it's may lead to the U.S. harm. Relative weakness in Japanese market. Therefore, it has also some some risk factors as well. Told me. It wasn't long since you joined a show identical now known as Rishon CAC. Tell us a little bit about the overhaul that you're seeing in culture in the company and what you're hoping to achieve. Yeah. Actually, the short encore basically was has been kind of not very conventional in the tradition of the type of chemical company you the Japanese chemical company and with the new management. We are now trying to and also we are now ill evolving our culture for a more entrepreneurial, more innovative type of the mindset. So, yeah, it's you know, we it's just kind of the beginning. However, we have a good momentum so far. So with this initiative. So we believe that we can reform the culture. Looking ahead, what do you think is the biggest change that Japan needs right now? Yeah. Country the Japan economy is an interesting situation. I'll say the. In the past. Japan has a sort of a unique employment culture characterized with one time a new great employment with their lifetime employment. So to say, however, this comes with the mindset situation is is being changed due to the you know, the more let's say, the more the attention to the a risk leak or the more skillset oriented or how to realize themselves as the person so that in yen younger generation they are the curious or looking out what is a better opportunity, where it's a better opportunity. Which company can providing a better carry opportunity and so forth. So it's as an employer. Of course it has some risk. However, I think we as a society as a whole will be. It is a good move and I think the with the new culture of ourselves and Resnick, we can leverage this kind of momentum.
