The Covid-19 pandemic ravaged small businesses across the country, impacting business owners in downtown Boston, who rely heavily on the countless workers populating office buildings so prevalent in the area. When the city shut down, almost all of the local merchants' customers disappeared. Some businesses were able to hang on with takeout orders or online sales, but most had to lay off workers just to stay afloat. Many small businesses shut down permanently. We speak with three Boston-based businesses about the challenges they faced over the past two years, and how they are guiding their businesses toward a hopeful future. (Source: Bloomberg)
