00:00Now President Biden enters his second year in office facing a cascade of perils at home and overseas as well as the prospect his party will lose control of Congress in November's midterm elections. The president will defend his record a record so far. At a news conference today Annmarie Horden Bloomberg Washington correspondent joins us now. What does he have to say to defend that record Annmarie. Really three items that I think the president will come out when he starts to defend his first year in office on the eve of the anniversary of his inauguration. He's going to be meeting the press when he goes to defend those that first year. He's going to look at the job gains and the recovery in the employment market. He'll likely point that three point nine percent unemployment rate we're just a smidge off from where we were pre pandemic. He will highlight the Covid relief bill that the Democratic Party was able to bring to the American people. And then lastly the hard infrastructure bill with which many of his predecessors were unable to finalize and hammer out a deal on a bipartisan basis. But there's going to be a number of questions face at the president as he gives his press conference both on domestic front and foreign front but three on the domestic front really stand out. One is inflation because you look at the recent polls. This is what is really frustrating everyday Americans. It's what they want. The administration according to the latest YouGov CBS poll to really focus on inflation. Also when it comes to Covid the president and this summer on July 4th all but declared independence from America from Covid-19. But now they've put on the back foot when it comes to the macron variance. You're gonna see a lot of questions based around that. And then of course his landmark legislation build back better. It's pretty much been benched or dead. And there's not a lot of talk about how the president is going to revive that sees the type of questions you can expect today.
