00:00The Tesla Model 3 has arrived and it's better than expected . This is the car that the company always wanted to build and affordable. All electric car that doesn't compromise and now Elon Musk has handed over the keys to the first customers. It has a simple elegance that in some ways exceeds anything the company has done before. I drove one and by every metric I care about is great. It's quick nimble super comfortable and filled with some new tech. It's just really cool like there's no key to this car. You can either use your phone to unlock it or a thin card with a chip in it that fits in your wallet. The climate control system is wild. It's a long gap that runs along the width of the front of the car. It blows waves of air wherever you direct them from the car central touch screen front seat or back. It feels like you're in an atrium with a smooth wave of glass that runs from the front hood to the trunk . When Musk took the stage in front of thousands of his cheering employees the biggest surprise was the battery. The base version of the car gets 220 miles per charge and that's pretty great. But a long range version for forty four thousand dollars gets 310 miles of battery range and that's a game changer. It's the cheapest electric range of any car on the market and it's going to be hard to beat. Then there's the safety these side impact test videos show the Model 3 against the Volvo s 60 which has one of the highest safety ratings in the world. And the Model 3 are fine while the Volvo as Musk said that Volvo is arguably the second safest car in the world. There's only one problem with the Model 3 and that's getting your hands on one . Tesla now has more than half a million reservations according to my skin. If you put a thousand dollars down now you'll probably not be getting your car until late 2018 and that's assuming all goes well. Musk warned his employees that the next six months of ramping up will be excruciating. Frankly we're going to be in production hell. Welcome Welcome What the hell. Still other carmakers should be worried. While companies like BMW Mercedes and Volkswagen have more experience building cars no one has as much experience as Tesla now in building electric cars and that it seems today is the future .

Tesla Delivers the New Model 3, Here's a First Look

Tesla rolled out its new Model 3, the more affordable sedan with over 500,000 customers eagerly awaiting their cars. Bloomberg's Tom Randall checked out some of the electric car's features, and explains why Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk face an uphill climb in meeting the Model 3's intense demand.
