The Airbnb of the Insurance Industry?

Dollar figures suggest insurance is the next sector in fintech's disruptive path. Last year, venture capitalists poured $2.65 billion into insurance startups globally, according to CB Insights, up form $740 million in 2014. That's because companies like Friendsurance see an opportunity to innovate an industry stuck in an old-fashioned status quo with high fees and low customer satisfaction. Friendsurance is based out of Berlin and runs a peer-to-peer insurance model. With it, small groups of users are rewarded a cash back bonus at the end of each year they remain claimless.
