  • 00:00Well let's talk about what's in there. Give us a sense of the innovative ways what's been used in the world. Yeah. So I think look Watson is a is a very sophisticated A.I. platform augmented intelligence platform and what it allows people to do is actually interact with it in a natural language format. And what happens is Watson learns from the questions and the answers and over time Watson is able to provide insight to a human being to the human being can actually make a better decision. IBM is focused specifically in the health care environment for a very long time. It's actually gone into cyber security and now and financial services. And what we're doing right now is taking Watson making it into its components and making it accessible to all developers and builders so they can actually integrate cognitive computing into their applications. One way has Watson transformed IBM. Yes. So I think I think at the basic core Watson has the ability of getting at core data which we know about 20 percent of the world's data but it's also able to get a dark data data around imagery videos and sort of conversation assets. And when you combine all that data you get different insight from a computer than you would if you're only looking at 20 percent of the world's data. So Watson has been able to do with an IBM is provide its clients with insights so they can actually do different work and actually have better actions and outcomes. Interesting that you tried out with GM recently and Watson is being used in that vehicle. That's right. It's a sense of how that would work. Is it a game changer. Yeah. No . Listen I think the idea that conversation is a game changer is very very important. And because Watson is able to actually converse in natural language across multiple languages it allows you to have hands free and you start to think of the world in a very different way. And what we've done with General Motors is actually connected to their In-car vehicle system called OnStar . So you can actually converse with your your car in natural language instead of keywords as we've done in the past. That opens up a whole new field of possibilities and transformation and lots of different companies. So when do you go from here . I mean give us a sense of your I guess fintech plan. Yeah . Cognitive computing yes plan IBM. Yeah. So look I think I think the most important thing is understand to that cognitive computing is all about augmenting intelligence of a human. And it's the interaction to help humans make better decisions. So where it takes us is very simply it's about arming people and entrepreneurs and startup and developers and even large enterprises with better insight around core data so they can make better decisions than they have ever had before and actually helped to transform their business as well as their industry and hopefully solve major global issues. 11000 people I hear from DST countries a huge US that's huge interest in FinTech currently. How do you apply cognitive intelligence in FinTech and what skills are needed to make it work. You know for it to be I guess adopted a widespread way. So first of all first of all what we've done is we've actually created on our block chain platform up a platform inthe fabric where developers and started you can access sort of these API. OK. So and what we've done is you have to think about this as a quoll crawl walk run sort of scenario where you're just using sort of the API ise for conversation. So if you're thinking about it financial technology application how do you actually help the customer service application within a bank to actually streamline its services. How do you help an employee actually access things they haven't done before with conversation. That's really step one step two is to look at data in a very different way to look at sort of that that data that's exposed and sort of then the dark data. How do you combine those two things together so you get better insight from before so that you make better decisions around risk management risk compliance and any other things that worrying sort of in the bank and that's what really it's the FinTech are after right. Where are we in this journey. Because some say that adoption is going to be really quick. Yeah do we . What are we talking about. Yeah look. Yeah yeah. No no no . OK I think we're on a journey I think we're only in sort of the first chapter of this and I actually think we don't really know where it's going to go but what we do know is when we arm people with sort of this technology and with Watson they take it to places that we would have never thought that would be whether it's solving healthcare issues or whether it's solving compliance issues or whether just basic chat issues. And it's actually making it simpler for a human being to interact with technology. So we're really excited about where it's gonna go .
