Will the ECB Extend QE This Year?

German government bonds halted a three-day gain before the European Central Bank announces its latest monetary policy decision. Benchmark 10-year bund yields fell to the lowest in more than a week on Wednesday. All 70 economists surveyed by Bloomberg forecast the ECB will leave the deposit rate at a record low of minus 0.4 percent, while a majority of respondents to a separate survey predict the ECB will wait until December to extend its asset-purchase program.
