Theresa May Bids for Tory Leadership to be Next U.K. PM
U.K. Home Secretary Theresa May announces she’s running for leader of the Conservative Party and U.K. prime minister, saying there will be no second referendum on EU membership and no general election until 2020. A week after David Cameron resigned following his defeat in the referendum on European Union membership, May faces some of the most momentous decisions in Britain’s post-war history if she wins.
