Carney Says ‘Brexit’ Would Cost City of London Business

“There would be an impact” from the U.K. leaving the European Union, Bank of England Governor Mark Carney said in testimony to U.K. lawmakers in London. "I can’t give you a precise number in terms of institutions or jobs or activity,’’ he said. Carney is testifying alongside Deputy Governor for Financial Stability Jon Cunliffe, who told lawmakers he thought Prime Minister David Cameron’s deal to reform the relationship with the EU was “very significant and very material.”
