Obama Sheds Tears as He Announces Gun Control Measures

President Barack Obama spoke about gun control measures at the White House on Tuesday. He said expanding background checks to cover more firearms transactions won’t infringe on the right of Americans to own guns. “The gun lobby may be holding Congress hostage right now, but they cannot hold America hostage,” Obama said. The president was brought to tears as he recalled the children killed in a mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. “Every time I think about those kids, it gets me mad,” he said. (Corrects date.)
