U.K. Stocks Drop as Putin Says Russia Will Help Syria
Tullow Oil Plc (TLW) added 2.6 percent after announcing that it has discovered oil off the coast of Norway. Lancashire Holdings Plc climbed 2.4 percent after shareholders approved its acquisition of Cathedral Capital Ltd.
The FTSE 100 Index (UKX) declined 17.45 points, or 0.3 percent, to 6,514.99 at 2:51 p.m. in London. The gauge has still advanced 1.6 percent so far this week after the European Central Bank said monetary policy will remain accommodative and reports showed manufacturing expanded at a faster pace in Britain and China. The broader FTSE All-Share slipped 0.2 percent today, while Ireland’s ISEQ Index decreased 0.1 percent.
