Chilean Stocks: Cencosud, Colbun, Endesa, Paz and Socovesa
The following companies are having unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 10:17 a.m. New York time.
The Ipsa index rose 0.3 percent to 3,901.51. The MSCI Chile (MXCL) index gained 2.6 percent to 2,150.33.
Cencosud SA (CENCOSUD CC) rose 0.5 percent to 2,800.5 pesos, its third day of gains. Chile’s largest retailer by sales may seek a stake in Chilean retailer Johnson’s, El Mercurio wrote.
Colbun SA (COLBUN) , a Chilean power generator, fell 0.9 percent to 126 pesos. A southern Chilean appeals court rejected injunctions filed against the HidroAysen hydroelectric project owned by Empresa Nacional de Electricidad SA, or Endesa, and Colbun.
Endesa (ENDESA CC) fell 0.2 percent to 740 pesos.
Paz Corp SA (PAZ) , Chile’s second-largest publicly traded real estate developer by market value, jumped 3.9 percent to 185 pesos. Home prices rose 9.5 percent in Santiago in the 12 months through August, according to data posted yesterday on the website of Chile’s Construction Chamber.
Socovesa SA (SOCOVESA CC), the country’s biggest publicly traded real estate developer, gained 6.3 percent to 172 pesos, its biggest intraday advance in more than a week.
