Thailand Stocks: Banpu, Eastern Printing, Everland, Thaicom
Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 4:30 p.m. local-time close in Bangkok.
The SET Index rose 1.86 points, or 0.2 percent, to 1,062.07.
Banpu Pcl (BANPU) dropped 1.8 percent to 674 baht after Thailand’s biggest coal producer said second-quarter profit fell 16 percent to 3.16 billion baht ($105.8 million).
Eastern Printing Pcl (EPCO) , a Thai printing company, retreated 6.5 percent to 2 baht, the biggest loss since August 2009, after reporting a 51 percent drop in second-quarter profit.
Everland Pcl (EVER) , a Thai property developer, surged 29 percent to 0.72 baht, the biggest jump since June 30. The company reported profit of 170.1 million baht in the second quarter, compared with a loss in the same period a year earlier.
GMM Grammy Pcl (GRAMMY) , a Thai music producer, climbed 9.4 percent to 19.80 baht, the highest close since January 2004, after second-quarter profit more than doubled to 253 million baht.
Thaicom Pcl (THCOM) advanced 4.9 percent to 10.7 baht. The country’s satellite monopoly said its net loss narrowed to 24.56 million baht in the second quarter, from a restated loss of 155.17 million baht in the same period a year earlier.
