Sunderland Says Gardner Joined From Birmingham, Third Signing in 24 Hours

Sunderland said midfielder Craig Gardner, 24, joined the Premier League soccer club from Birmingham City on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
He’s the third signing in just over 24 hours after strikers Connor Wickham and Ji Dong-won joined from Ipswich and Chunnam Dragons, respectively.
Wickham joined for an 8 million-pound ($12.8 million) transfer fee that could rise to 12 million pounds. Ji’s fee was undisclosed.
Sunderland announced the Gardner deal on its website.
