By Chris Peterson - Dec 7, 2010

Massey Energy Co.’s offer of $3 million for each of the families of the 29 miners killed in the Upper Big Branch mine disaster in West Virginia is still posing a dilemma nine months later, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Most of the families of those killed in America’s worst coalmining disaster in 40 years have still to decide whether to accept Massey’s offer or sue; only three settlements deals have been reached, the newspaper said, citing people familiar.
