BP Searches for New TNK-BP Chief Executive Officer
BP Plc (BP/) said the search for a new chief executive officer for its Russian venture, TNK-BP (TNBP), is still under way, declining to comment on press reports that former OAO GMK Norilsk Nickel CEO Denis Morozov may be chosen.
``The selection process is going on and we will let you know when there is something to announce,'' Vladimir Buyanov, a spokesman for BP, said today by telephone from Moscow.
TNK-BP has three candidates for the role, including Morozov, the Wall Street Journal reported today, citing people familiar with the situation. Morozov may be named to replace current CEO Robert Dudley in the next two weeks, the Sunday Times reported over the weekend, without saying where it got the information.
Morozov declined to comment through a spokeswoman, who asked not to be identified by name.
Ursula von Stetten, a spokeswoman for BASF, said Galitzine left the company at the end of August. ``Therefore we can't comment on his plans for the future,'' she wrote in an e-mail to Bloomberg News.
Nikolai Manvelov, a spokesman for Rosneft, declined to comment.
