New ECB Tower Party Besieged by Protesters: In Pictures

As the ECB prepares to inaugurate its new $1.4 billion headquarters in Frankfurt, the euro area’s financial capital is dealing with demonstrations and sit-ins on at locations throughout the city by over 10,000 anti-austerity protesters sympathizing with the plight of Greece.

    More than 10,000 protesters under the Blockupy banner descended on the euro area’s financial capital and home of the common currency, and several thousand police officers are on duty.
