Ecstatic.
That was the mood of many of the passengers who arrived at China’s international airports on the first day that the government ended its draconian quarantine rules. At Shanghai’s Pudong airport, no more than a dozen flights arrived from abroad, mostly from Asia. Nevertheless, it felt like extended families came out to greet the returnees.
