If you’ve ever wondered where the songbird that landed in your backyard or window came from, and where it flies off to next, there’s now an app for that.

The National Audubon Society released its Bird Migration Explorer tool last week, a beautifully designed interactive map that outlines the migratory paths of more than 400 bird species in the Western Hemisphere — and the urban and environmental obstacles they encounter on their journeys.
