Stock futures briefly plunged on news overnight that Russian forces were attacking Europe’s largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine. The invading army occupied the site this morning and fires there have been extinguished, according to reports. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is in Europe, said NATO is prepared to defend its territory. On the ground, Russian troops are encircling Ukraine’s capital Kyiv, while assaults on the southern city of Mariupol continue.
