This week the House was in session while the Senate was out. Next week, it’s the Senate’s turn to legislate while the House takes time off, after handing senators the $36.5 billion hurricane and wildfire relief package they passed on Thursday. Also expect the Senate to continue setting the parameters for tax reform through the fiscal 2018 budget resolution, and Attorney General Jeff Sessions goes before the Senate Judiciary Committee for a likely wide-ranging and potentially contentious hearing. Bloomberg’s Nathan Hager talked about the week ahead on Capitol Hill with Bloomberg Government executive editor Loren Duggan in the Bloomberg 99.1 Washington newsroom.
