Polish Policymaker Kotecki Still Sees Some Chance of Interest-Rate Cut in July

Polish central bank Governor Adam Glapinski’s plan to keep interest rates steady is facing a fresh challenge from a surprisingly soft inflation readout and two policymakers keen on cuts around the middle of 2025.

A day after Glapinski said there’s no basis for easing as price growth will stay above target until 2027, Monetary Policy Council members Ludwik Kotecki and Henryk Wnorowski told Bloomberg they may back a rate cut within months. Meanwhile, inflation rate fellBloomberg Terminal to 4.9% in February, undershooting expectations from all 24 economists surveyed by Bloomberg.
