Romania Far-Right Candidate’s Campaign Chief Hit by Police Raids

Romanian prosecutors launched an investigation into the campaign manager of far-right presidential frontrunner Calin Georgescu, whose shock victory led the country’s top court to annul an election on allegations of foreign meddling.

Georgescu said in a social media post on Tuesday that police and prosecutors raided the home of Radu Pally, his campaign manager. The Romanian police said in a statement that it was conducting a criminal probe, but did not name any suspects. The prosecutor’s office declined to comment when contacted by Bloomberg News.
