Orban, Macron, Meloni Compete for Trump’s Ear as Europe’s Voice

There is a famous saying attributed to Henry Kissinger, though denied by the man, that goes something like, “Who do I call if I want to speak to Europe?” When it comes to getting Donald Trump’s attention, the competition is heating up.

There are three leaders, and a certain former UK prime minister, in the mix to be that person for the returning US president. Their approaches are different, as well as their history with Trump. Critically, they’re all very much bringing their own agenda — and not really thinking as Europeans.
