France’s far-right National Rally party said it has paid back some €6.1 million ($6.5 million) to close out a loan originally taken from a Russian bank as it aims to distance itself from accusations of foreign influence.
The party said in a statement Tuesday that it made the payment to Moscow-based firm Aviazapchast JSC, which took over the loan in 2016.
