Ukraine Recap: Russian Defense Chief Plays Down Impact of Mutiny

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said last month’s attempted mutiny by Wagner mercenaries failed because the country’s armed forces “remained true to their oath.”

In his first public comments on the uprising, Shoigu told officers at a meeting broadcast on state television that the “attempt to destabilize the situation in Russia” hasn’t affected military operations in Ukraine.
