UK Cooks Still Mad for Turkey Despite ‘Massive Jump’ in Holiday Prices

A month ago, it looked as if high-end turkeys would be a scarce commodity on holiday tables in the UK. Following an outbreak of avian flu, about 40% of the country’s outdoor turkeys had been wiped out. Prices were up approximately 16% over concerns about the disease and soaring feed  costs.

As recently as two weeks ago, it was estimated that half the country’s free-range turkeys had been culled.
