New York Governor Hochul Clings to Slim Lead Over Zeldin

New York Governor Kathy Hochul is making a bigger push on public safety in the final two weeks before the election after her lead against Republican opponent Lee Zeldin narrowed.

Hochul, a Democrat, touted her record on crime at a campaign event on Tuesday morning at Chelsea Market in New York City, three days after she said the state will invest an extra $62 million to mitigate subway violence. Hochul toured a sparsely populated Chelsea Market, a warren of shops and restaurants that’s popular with tourists, ahead of the gubernatorial debate on Tuesday night.
