Sweden’s New Cabinet Sees Lack of Kurdish Ties Easing NATO Path

Sweden’s new government sees itself in a better position than the previous cabinet to persuade Turkey into ratifying its accession to NATO.

A lack of ties to Kurdish groups is “a positive point to start from” in talks with Turkey and sets the new cabinet apart from Magdalena Andersson’s Social Democrat executive, according to Tobias Billstrom, appointed as foreign minister on Tuesday.
