Brazil has a candidate to lead the Inter-American Development Bank, a top regional lender that removed its president last month.

Economy Minister Paulo Guedes suggested a candidate to US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, who reacted favorably but made no commitments, he told reporters in Washington Friday, without identifying the person. He added Brazil is trying to build an alliance with Colombia at the IDB, and that that Chile will also nominate a candidate.
