City Tourism Officials See Shift ‘from Quantity to Quality’

As tourism gradually returns, cities are thinking more carefully about what visitors they want to attract, and how.

“We don’t want to grow tourism anymore,” Geerte Udo, chief executive officer of the private-public foundation Amsterdam and Partners, said at the CityLab conference on Tuesday. “We totally shifted from quantity to quality.”
