United Airlines Plans to Resume Hong Kong Flights From January

  • US carrier suspended services at start of pandemic in 2020
  • Hong Kong has axed quarantine in bid to open to rest of world

United Airlines Holdings Inc. is planning to restart Hong Kong flights as soon as January, according to people familiar to the matter, becoming one of a handful of major airlines to resume passenger flights to the city, which has largely been cut off to the outside world since the start of the pandemic. 

The Chicago-based carrier is evaluating plans to relaunch services from San Francisco in the new year, the people said, declining to be identified because the discussions are private.
