New York City has long been a hub for travelers, but we humans aren’t the only ones to pass through its concrete jungle.

In a typical year, more than 300 species of birds fly through the city as they migrate between their breeding and wintering grounds. Their destinations are scattered across 30 countries and territories throughout the Americas, from as far south as Buenos Aires to as far north as Atqasuk, Alaska.
