Amtrak’s Acela and Northeast train services will be relatively unscathed by the carrier’s decision to scrap most of its long-distance service as a potential strike by railroad labor unions looms. 

The Acela line -- popular among the corporate, policy and legal set seeking the fastest train between Boston, New York and Washington -- will continue on a full schedule amid the broader stoppage, Amtrak said in a statement Wednesday.
