Germany plans to expand government aid programs to battle rising bankruptcy risks amid a deepening crisis that’s increasing the pressure on companies, Economy Minister Robert Habeck told RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland.

High energy prices and disrupted supply chain are hitting many German companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, he said. “There are insolvency risks we need to address,” he said. “That’s why we will extend our aid programs.”
