You win the most lucrative game in world football to get promotion to the English Premier League, spend more than European giants Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester City on talent in the summer — and you’re still a favorite for relegation back to the second tier.

That’s the reality for Nottingham Forest as the elation of the club’s return to the top flight after more than two decades gives way to the tough business of trying to stay in it.
