The Hong Kong Rugby Sevens has received government approval to go ahead in November, the organizers said, likely making the iconic sports tournament the city’s first major event since the pandemic began more than two years ago.

The tournament will be held from Nov. 4 to 6 and organizers will consult with the government to ensure the event is in compliance with the prevailing Covid-19 measures in place at the time, the Hong Kong Rugby Union said in an emailed statement, as the city’s pandemic policies continue to be unwound.
