India will consider giving more assistance to Sri Lanka following the island nation’s talks with the International Monetary Fund to help rescue the neighbor from the worst economic crisis since independence.

“When they have a plan, they have an agreement how to go forward, then we will see what is the supportive role that we can play,” Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, told reporters in New Delhi Tuesday after the Indian government briefed political leaders about the crisis in Sri Lanka.
