Republican Herschel Walker bolstered his US Senate campaign staff in Georgia after a series of reports intensified questions about his ability to unseat Democratic US Senator Raphael Warnock in a race that will help decide party control of the chamber in November’s elections.

Walker, the former University of Georgia and professional football star, announced on Monday a senior campaign team that featured new key staffers. They include Chip Lake, a veteran Georgia political operative as senior adviser for campaign operations, and Gail Gitcho, a national GOP strategist who was communications director for Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, as communications consultant.
