Uber Technologies Inc.’s former security chief must face criminal charges that he defrauded drivers in an alleged coverup of a massive data hack at the ride-hailing company six years ago.

U.S. District Judge William H. Orrick’s decision keeps Joe Sullivan’s trial on track for September after prosecutors late last year added fraud charges to the case.
