A former aide to then-President Donald Trump’s last chief of staff, Mark Meadows, has emerged as a star witness in the House probe into the US Capitol insurrection as the panel scheduled her to appear in a surprise hearing Tuesday.

Cassidy Hutchinson, who previously gave videotaped depositions offering insider details on the final days of Trump’s presidency, will testify during the hearing at 1 p.m. in Washington, according to a person familiar with the matter, who confirmed she will testify.
