At least 21 people died when an Iranian passenger train derailed Wednesday, the latest disaster to hit a country still recovering bodies from a fatal building collapse last month.

The train was carrying 381 passengers when it collided with a construction excavator after leaving the town of Tabas in eastern Iran, state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported, adding that 87 people had been injured.
